American West Steamboat Company
Theme
cruises are being added to American West's travels on the Columbia,
Willamette, and Snake Rivers this season. Speakers, performers, authors,
and activities will center around the Lewis & Clark
Bicentennial. Some other subjects: the Big Band era of the '40s and
'50s and Northwest Food and Wine. The 161-passenger Queen of the
West plies the thousand-mile
route round-trip from Portland.
Carnival Cruise Lines
More than 1000 choices of shore excursions are available on Carnival's
new on-line excursion booking system. It will allow passengers an
opportunity to buy land tours in 65 different ports via the Carnival
web site... Carnival expects to carry a record 3.3 million passengers
on 1300 cruises aboard 20 ships this year. They'll depart from 18
North American home ports... Carnival passengers have become accustomed
to whimsical "towel animals" that greet them in their cabins each
evening. Now the company has put together an instructional book offering
step-by-step directions for passengers interested in recreating the
creatures back home. The book is called "Carnival Towel Creations." The
company's stewards create some seven million "towel animals" annually.
Celebrity Cruises
Citing steadily increasing demand for Europe cruises, Celebrity
will deploy a fourth ship to the region this spring. The 1750-passenger
Century will be moved from the Caribbean to sail a series of 12-day
Baltic trips from Amsterdam, a Norwegian Fjords cruise, and 10- and
11-day Mediterranean circuits. It joins the previously-scheduled
European ships Constellation, Galaxy, and Millennium... A new region
looms for Celebrity next year. It will place the 1950-passenger Summit
into the South Pacific and Far East. It will sail to Australia, China,
Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Vietnam, and
additional locations. Round-trip and open-jaw cruises of various
lengths will be offered. This will be the first time Celebrity visits
the Asia-Pacific region... Lecturers aboard every 2005 cruise and
lots of celebrity speakers. That's what Celebrity is planning this
year in an expansion of its "Celebrity Discoveries" enrichment program.
Costa Cruises
3800 passengers! That's the size of the newest ship Costa has ordered
from an Italian shipyard. The unnamed vessel will be delivered in
spring, 2007. A similar-sized newbuild, the Costa Concordia, will
be completed a year earlier. Each ship will be longer than three
football fields, have a 20,000 square foot "wellness" area extending
over two decks, and domes covering two of the four swimming pools...
The 1022-passenger Costa Tropicale, which entered service almost
a quarter-century ago, will be transferred to P & O Cruises Australia
late this year... A new home-town parking program has been introduced
for passengers heading for Costa Cruises. The Park 'N Fly company
will make spaces available at more than 30 off-airport locations
across the nation. Details of the plan are shown at the Park "N Fly
link on Costa's website, www.costacruises.com... The 2114-passenger
Costa Atlantica achieved a rare perfect score of 100 during its semi-annual
sanitation inspection conducted by the Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention... On the business side, Costa expects to achieve
6.6 million "passenger days" this year, vs 5.6 million in 2004.
Crystal Cruises
Crystal has released its 2006 itineraries. Next year its three ships
will visit a record 214 ports in 82 countries... some 20 percent
more ports than they visited last year. A total of 97 cruises will
be conducted, ranging from a new three-day sampler to new seven-day
itineraries on each ship up to a 106-day world cruise... In addition
to 10 San Francisco-to-San Francisco 12-day round trips to Alaska
this summer, Crystal has added a new offering: a 12-day Vancouver
round-trip. The 940-passenger Crystal Harmony will call at Whittier,
Glacier Bay, Hubbard Glacier, Columbia Glacier, Juneau, Skagway,
Seward, and Ketchikan... Golf will receive a new emphasis on Crystal.
It has formed a partnership with a maker of clubs that will result
in dedicated golf cruises, visits to world-famous courses, lectures
by noted golf figures, instruction, clinics and more. The company
says that on non-golf-themed cruises, up to 10 percent of passengers
attend on-board golf classes... 38 new shore tours this year will
bring to 125 the number of Alaska shore excursions that will be available
this summer for passengers aboard the 940-passenger Crystal Harmony.
They include a rock climbing and rappelling adventure, a rainforest
hike, a birding expedition, and a wilderness kayaking excursion...
Jewish points of interest will be showcased on seven new shore excursions
during Crystal's 2005 European summer and fall season. They include
visits to World War II sites in Poland from Gdansk and St. Petersburg,
a visit to the Great Coral Synagogue from St. Petersburg, a tour
of Dublin's Jewish landmarks, a walking tour of Venice's historic
Jewish Ghetto, and a tour of the old Jewish quarter and newer museums
and holocaust memorials in Berlin, from Warnemunde. Friday night
services will be held each week
Cunard Line
To begin 2006, the 2620-passenger Queen Mary 2 will sail into the
Pacific for the first time via a circumnavigation of South America.
The ship will travel from New York to Los Angeles in January, conduct
a three-day round trip out of Los Angeles, and then sail to the Hawaiian
Islands. In March, it travels in the opposite direction. Among its
many features are 10 dining venues, five swimming pools, the largest
library at sea, the largest wine collection at sea, and British nannies
Disney Cruise Line
The 2600-passenger Disney Magic will be repositioned to Los Angeles
for 12 seven-day cruises this summer. The move is timed to celebrate
Disneyland's 50th anniversary, and the ship will return
to its usual route after the observance. The ship will sail on Saturdays
to Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas, returning to Florida
in September. While the Magic is in Los Angeles, the 2600-passenger
Disney Wonder will conduct three- and four-day trips to the Bahamas
and Disney's private island from Port Canaveral
Holland America Line
Holland America's $225 million "Signature of Excellence" enhancements
of its ships is making progress. The latest two ships to receive
makeovers are the Zaandam and the Prinsendam. The Zaandam now has
a culinary arts center for cooking demonstrations, tastings, and
classes; a New York Times-affiliated Explorations CafŽ; expanded
spa facilities; and upgraded youth spaces. The Prinsendam also received
flat-panel television sets. As part of the program, staterooms will
be outfitted with premium mattresses, Egyptian cotton bed linens,
and extra-fluffy towels. Cabins will get massage showerheads, lighted
magnifying makeup mirrors, and new hair dryers. There will be new
stainless steel ice buckets and serving trays. Passengers will also
be welcomed with a fresh fruit basket. The whole fleet will be outfitted
by fall, 2006... An expanded roster of 18 Boston -Montreal cruises
will be offered on the 1266-passenger Maasdam this year. In addition
to customary fall trips, there will also be spring and summer voyages
this year.
Norwegian Cruise Line
NCL's big event this season will be the inauguration of its third
Hawaii ship, the 2146-passenger Pride of America... Meanwhile, the
company continues to add close-to-home ports and itineraries. This
year its ships will depart from Seattle, Vancouver, Boston, New York,
Philadelphia, Baltimore, Charleston, Houston, Miami, New Orleans,
San Juan, Hawaii, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.It is expanding
its "Freestyle" dining theme in a continuing refurbishment of existing
ships and in original construction in its new vessels.
Princess Cruises
San Francisco rejoins the ranks of 52-week-a-year cruise homeports
this year, when Princess inaugurates Mexico service aboard the 1950-passenger
Dawn Princess. From September through May, 2006, the Dawn Princess
will sail through the Golden Gate every ten days for Catalina, Puerto
Vallarta, Mazatlan, Cabo San Lucas, and San Diego. Princess will
continue its summer schedule between San Francisco and Alaska...
Also bound for Mexico during the winter will be the 2670-passenger
Sapphire Princess, sailing every Saturday round trip from Los Angeles
and calling at Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas. From
San Diego, the 1590-passenger Regal Princess will head to Mexico
on 10-day trips this fall. The 62 Mexico fall-winter-spring departures
represent a Princess record in the California market, where some
20 million people live within an hour's drive of one of the three
cruise terminals... Passengers who board Princess ships with their
own laptop computers can now use them to check their email or surf
the web. All 14 ships in the Princess fleet now have wireless "hotspots" to
allow the functions. In addition, expanded Internet Cafes on many
ships will be fitted with additional computers for passenger use.
The largest installation will have 26 computers... ... Princess'
2005 Europe season will consist of 57 departures between now and
November aboard five vessels. Different this year will be an extensive
array of tour options, which will take passengers to destinations
they can't see on a cruise-only vacation. Tours will be offered to
Med, Baltic, and Western Europe passengers.
Radisson Seven Seas Cruises
Around the world in 109 days. That'll be the pace to be set by Radisson's
700-passenger Seven Seas Voyager as it rolls out on its 2006 world
cruise. The all-suite, all-balcony ship will leave Los Angeles in
January for 45 ports in 28 countries on five continents. It will
end the journey in Fort Lauderdale late in April. Smithsonian Institution
lecturers and celebrity guests will hold forth during the trip...
Fleetwide enhancements are being completed this season. They include
the installation of DVD players in all Mariner and Navigator suites,
a print-on-demand service of same-day newspapers from around the
world on all ships, installation of Bose Wave Music Systems in top
suite categories, establishment of DVD movie libraries on additional
ships, new shower stalls with rain showers and tile seating on 47
Mariner suites, new "Indochine" and Italian menus in specialty restaurants,
and new production shows... Ushuaia, Argentina, will be the departure
point for two round trips to Antarctica in January. The 394-passenger
Explorer II will be limited to 198 passengers for the trips that
will include Zodiac explorations, wildlife encounters, naturalists,
and lectures on Antarctica fauna, flora, geography, and history
Royal Caribbean International
RCI is beefing up its Northeast lineup this summer. It will operate
two ships on alternating five-day Bermuda and nine-day Western Caribbean
itineraries from New York and Baltimore, respectively. From Boston,
10-day Bermuda/Caribbean sailings will call at Tortola, St. Maarten,
Bermuda, and RCI's private island in Hispaniola... This spring, RCI
has 16 ships in the Caribbean. Later in the year there will be three
in Europe, three in Alaska, and one in the Gulf of Mexico... With
the addition of a number of Caribbean shore excursions beginning
this summer, Royal Caribbean will offer more than 600 excursion options
in the islands... The line's private island of Labadee has been spruced
up with a new pirate-themed water playground. It features a "sunken" pirate
ship and lots of drips, drizzles, and drenches from geysers, water
buckets, water archways, and water cannons... Royal Caribbean has
signed a letter of intent with a Finnish shipyard to build a new
3600-passenger, 158,000-ton ship. It should be completed in early
2008. Its cost will be some $230,000 per berth
Seabourn Cruise Line
Seabourn has added more than 75 optional shore excursions designed
to provide "trophy experiences" for passengers of its three all-suite
ships, the 208-passenger Pride, Spirit, and Legend. Exclusive entry
to sites of interest, meetings with notable personalities, and deep
dips into special-interest pursuits mark the Trophy program. Example:
a meal with Gihan Sadat, widow of the late Egyptian president Anwar
Sadat, in her Nile-side home in Cairo. The program will be offered
on 134 cruises in 76 countries this year and next.
Silversea Cruises
Silversea Cruises is expanding its Guest Lecturer program with a
new enrichment series it calls "The Spirit of Exploration." Internationally-known
adventurers will serve as Resident Explorer on many cruises, hosting
passengers to a series of presentations that reveal the explorer's
knowledge, personal insights, and quest for discovery. The Resident
Explorers will also accompany passengers on selected shore excursions
and discuss their exciting moments in earth, sea, and space exploration...
New on Silversea's schedule is its 2006 itinerary list. Its four
ships will call at 318 ports in 100 countries. They'll offer some
145 itineraries... A first-ever trip this summer for Silversea is
a 49-day Grand Mediterranean cruise to 37 cities in nine countries
aboard the 296-passenger Silver Wind. Venice is the port of embarkation.
Windstar Cruises
Windstar's 2006 deployment has been announced. Its three motor sailing
yachts will sail 147 voyages in Europe, the Caribbbean, and the Americas.
There will be 40 voyages in the Med from ports like Lisbon, Barcelona,
Rome, Athens, Monte Carlo, Marseille, Nice, and Venice. There will
be 38 sailings in the Greek Islands from Athens, Istanbul, and other
ports. In the Caribbean, some 17 seven-day cruises will operate roundtrip
from Bridgetown, Barbados... A new tropical itinerary is on tap this
year for the 308-passenger Wind Surf. It will conduct seven-day,
round-trip circuits from Cozumel to the Honduran Bay islands of Isla
de Utila and Roatan; the Honduran mainland at Puerto Cortez and Omoa;
Belize City, Belize; and Costa Maya, Mexico. Naturalists will be
aboard each departure to interpret and help passengers discover the
array of flora and fauna of the region... After a two-year hiatus,
Windstar returns to Costa Rica this year. The 148-passenger motor
sailing yacht Wind Star will make ten seven-day cruises round trip
from Puerto Caldera Among the stops: the Nicaraguan fishing village
of San Juan del Sur, Playa Flamingo Beach, the adventure-tour base
camp of Quepos, the Osa Peninsula of Bahia Paraiso, and Tortuga Island.
Carnival
Cruise Lines
The largest Carnival ship ever constructed, the 2974-passenger, 110,000-ton
Conquest enters service this season. It will conduct seven-day, year-'round
cruises from New Orleans. The ship has an 11-deck atrium, two main
dining rooms, a patisserie, a two-deck-high poolside restaurant, 24-hour
pizzeria, New York-style deli, and Asian and American specialty restaurants.
The main restaurant will seat 1200 passengers at a time... New itineraries
have been announced for the smoke-free 2052-passenger Carnival Paradise.
It will conduct year-'round seven-day cruises on Sundays from Miami.
Alternating Eastern and Western Caribbean trips will stop at such
new ports as Isla Roatan, Honduras; Belize City, Belize; and Casa
de Campo, Dominican Republic. Old standbys Cozumel, Grand Cayman,
Nassau, and St. Thomas will also be visited. ... For the first time,
Carnival will operate a series of week-long Bermuda cruises round-trip
from New York. Seven trips will be offered from New York this summer,
two from Baltimore, and two from Philadelphia. The 2124-passenger
ships Carnival Pride and Carnival Legend will make the trips... Carnival's
new 2124-passenger Legend scored perfect 100s from both the Canadian
Health Service and the U. S. Department of Public Health in the two
agencies' respective Cruise Ship Sanitation inspection programs. The
unannounced inspections cover 42 items... Also new: eight-day trips
to three different Caribbean destinations from New York City, operating

Celebrity
Cruises
The Caribbean will have two Celebrity ships sailing it this summer,
one of them redeployed from 17 previously planned European cruises.
The 1750-passenger Century will be transferred to Fort Lauderdale...
Further expanding in the U. S., Celebrity will open the Golden Gate
a bit wider this year and next. It will place its 1870-passenger Mercury
into an imaginative new series of cruises on itineraries that have
never been offered before. Monterey, Santa Barbara, Catalina, Cabo
San Lucas, and occasionally deeper Mexico ports will be visited round-trip
from San Francisco on seven-, eight-, nine-, 10-, and 11-day trips.
They'll be offered in September, October, and November of this year
and March, April, and May of 2004.
Crystal
Cruises
A new website devoted entirely to the upcoming Crystal Serenity, Crystal's
third ship, has opened at www.Crystalcruises.com. The 1080-passenger
ship will set sail in July. The site features 3-D images and an animated
virtual tour of the exteriors and interiors of the ship. Following
its launch, it will spend the summer in Europe. It will be christened
by entertainer Dame Julie Andrews. The ceremony is set for July in
Southampton ... San Francisco will be the port of embarkation for
eight 12-day summer cruises to Alaska aboard the 940-passenger Crystal
Harmony. June 2 is the start date. Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, Sitka,
Vancouver, and Victoria will be visited; Glacier Bay, Hubbard Glacier,
or Tracey Arm will be cruised... The 940-passenger Crystal Harmony
has emerged from a multi-million dollar overhaul. Expansive new spa
facilities, a Connoisseur Club cigar and cognac lounge, and remodeled
public areas throughout the ship are major elements of the project.
Cunard
Line
To mark the farewell season of transatlantic voyages aboard the 1791-passenger
Queen Elizabeth 2, Cunard has announced that all 17 crossings will
feature a unique entertainment or cultural theme. See the "Theme
Cruises" page for a listing of many of them... Cunard has teamed
up with DHL Worldwide Express to solve the luggage-schlepping problem.
Its optional new White Star Luggage Service means that luggage can
be picked up at the passenger's home and flown to the ship, where
it will await the traveler's arrival in the passenger's cabin. Luggage
can also be shipped back home after trips. Costs are determined by
weight and distance shipped... If you're making plans for 2004, don't
expect to take the new 2620-passenger Queen Mary during the Athens
Olympics.in late August. It has been chartered to serve as a floating
hotel during the event.
Disney
Cruise Line
Seven-day Western Caribbean cruises have been added to the Disney
schedule. They leave on alternate Saturdays from Port Canaveral for
Key West, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, and Disney's private Bahamian island
of Castaway Cay. The 1740-passenger Disney Magic is the venue... More
than 40 counselors now staff Disney's 15,000 square feet of children's
programming areas.
Holland
America Line
San Francisco's Golden Gate opens wider this summer, as Holland America
repositions its 793-passenger Prinsendam (formerly the Royal Viking
Sun) to the city by the bay from previously-planned Mediterranean
dutires. It will offer the only 14-day round trips from San Francisco
to Alaska in a series of eight trips spanning almost four months.
It will arrive in San Francisco via a 23-day cruise from Hong Kong
in April and leave its summer stint via a 22-day Panama Canal cruise
to Boston in September. Because the Alaska trips will be 14 days,
they will cover a lot of territory: Hubbard Glacier, Yakutat Bay,
Tracy Arm, Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, Wrangell, Victoria, and Astoria
in Oregon... A fresh new look appears in Holland America Line's seven
new 2003 brochures. Itinerary indexes, descriptions of all ports of
call, depictions of many public rooms and staterooms, and a complete
sailing schedule are now included. See Cruise-news.com's "New
Brochures" section for details... Holland America's tote board
for 2003: 448 cruises to all seven continents. There will be 14 U.
S. and Canada home ports this year. Seven ships will sail in Alaska
on a record 134 departures. 170 cruises will sail to the Caribbean.
Three ships will be in Europe this summer, including the new 1848-passenger
Oosterdam, which will be completed this year. There will be 43 departures
covering the Med, Baltic, Northern Europe, and Transatlantic... Starting
this season, the new 1848-passenger Zuiderdam joins the Holland America
fleet. It will sail year-'round on seven-day Caribbean itineraries
from Fort Lauderdale... Passengers planning cruises on Holland America
can now book shore excursions and receive confirmation in advance
of sailing via a new booking system on the company's web site. It's

Norwegian
Cruise Line
Aiming to be the most widespread "Homeland Cruising" operator,
NCL has expanded the number of U. S. and Canadian home ports to a
dozen. This year it will sail round trips seasonally from Baltimore,
Boston, New Orleans, New York, Philadelphia, Port Canaveral, San Juan,
Seattle, and Vancouver, and year-'round from Miami, Houston, and Honolulu.
"Homeland Cruising is now very much the focus of our expansion
plan for NCL," said president Colin Veitch. San Francisco, Los
Angeles, and San Diego the company's three largest unserved
markets appear to be the next logical candidates... A new form
of on-board participatory entertainment is being added to the new
2224-passenger Norwegian Dawn. "IFuacata" parties
which mix Latin rhythms, special food and drinks, and all-night revelry
will begin late every Thursday night and last until dawn on
the ship's Bahamas and Florida cruises from New York, beginning in
May. The parties are modeled after Miami South Beach events. A nine-piece
band, disk jockeys, maracas, tambourines, neon glow sticks, Cuban-style
guitars, and temporary tattoos are part of the program... The new
Norwegian Dawn began service from Miami at year-end. It's distinguished
from the outside by giant artwork on both sides of the hull. The starboard
side shows dolphins playing in colorful waves, while the port side
features New York's Statue of Liberty... Read all about it! Passengers
on NCL ships will be able to subscribe to their choice of 150 of the
world's leading newspapers and receive their copies on the
day of publication. Through an agreement with a news delivery service
and a satellite provider, full editions of major newspapers will be
delivered to cabins in an 11-inch by 17-inch format. A broad selection
of North American and international publications will be offered...
The partially-completed hull of the first ship in the former Project
America ship-building program has been towed from Mississippi to Germany.

Princess
Cruises
San Francisco will be the first U. S. home port for Princess' new
688-passenger Pacific Princess, formerly a Renaissance Cruises ship.
Built in 1999 it will sail on 10 consecutive 11-day Alaska departures
between May and September. Together with Vancouver and Alaska sailings,
Princess will have six ships in Alaska this summer... A huge fire
that struck the almost-complete 2670-passenger Diamond Princess at
its Mitsubishi Heavy Industries shipyard in Japan has delayed its
introduction from this June until mid-2004. Its 2003 and early 2004
Alaska and Mexico cruise programs have been canceled... To get back
into its planned schedule as quickly as possible, Princess will switch
the names of its two under-construction twin ships so that the former
Diamond Princess will be renamed Sapphire Princess and the former
Sapphire Princess will be renamed Diamond Princess. The new Sapphire
Princess will be delivered in May, 2004, and placed into Alaska service
from Seattle. The new Diamond Princess will be delivered in February,
2004, and placed into Mexico service from Los Angeles prior to moving
to Seattle for Alaska service in the summer... An elaborate new enrichment
program is to be inaugurated aboard the brand-new 1950-passenger Coral
Princess, which debuted in December. Dubbed ScholarShip@Sea, the series
will offer guest lecturers and shipboard experts on some 20 subjects
per voyage. There will be about six courses per sea day. Culinary
Arts, Visual/Creative Arts, Photography and Computer Technology will
be featured. The venue will contain cruising's first full kitchen
set, pottery kilns, three revolving stages with integrated lifts,
and the flexibility to broadcast demonstrations to hundreds. The ship
will also have a New Orleans-style restaurant, the Bayou Cafe. It
will feature spicy mixtures of Creole, French, Spanish, and African
food influences like shrimp, alligator ribs, gumbos, jambalaya, and
for dessert pecan fudge cake... Year-'round French Polynesia
cruises have been inaugurated. The newest addition to Princess' fleet,
the Tahitian Princess, will conduct 50 trips this year, ranging from
seven to 20 days in length. Papeete will be the port of departure.
The Tahitian Princess is a former Renaissance Cruises vessel.
Radisson
Seven Seas Cruises
Radisson begins 2003 with six voyages between San Juan, Puerto Limon,
and the Netherlands Antilles on the 350-passenger, twin-hulled Radisson
Diamond. The Panama and Costa Rica itineraries are planned to retrace
conquistador Vasco Nunez de Balboa's explorations... For the first
time, Radisson's all-suite, 490-passenger Navigator will offer five
months of East Coast - Bermuda trips. 16 cruises are scheduled, 11
round trip from New York, with additional one-way or round trips from

Caribbean International
The magic of Harry Potter will be hovering near Royal Caribbean Britain
cruises this summer. Pre- and post-cruise tour packages will visit
the locations used to bring the popular books to life on the screen.
Locations: Alnwick Castle in Northumberland where broomstick flying
scenes were shot, Goathland Station used for the Hogsmeade Station
scenes, a steam train ride through North York Moors National Park,
and the London Zoo reptile house where Harry discovered he could talk
to snakes... A more colorful cruise experience for youngsters is on
tap. Royal Caribbean and Crayola have joined to produce a kids' art
program that will allow children to learn about the art, culture,
history, and science of the regions they visit on vacation. "Adventure
Art" will be an age-specific program dealing with various creative
media... Royal Caribbean Cruises has deferred its options to purchase
a fifth and sixth Radiance-class ship for delivery in 2005 and 2006.
Four of the ships will be in service by 2004, however... New summer
options from Fort Lauderdale and Los Angeles have been added to Royal
Caribbean's schedule. The 1950-passenger Enchantment of the Seas will
begin four- and five-night cruises to the Western Caribbean from Fort
Lauderdale in May, while the 2350-passenger Monarch of the Seas will
start three- and four-day trips from Los Angeles to Baja, Mexico ,
in June... Look for a new multi-million dollar ad campaign promoting
Royal Caribbean's 2003 European offerings. It will run in major media
beginning this season. The carrier will have three ships there this
year conducting a series of Med, British Isles, and Scandinavia/Russia

be delivered to Royal Caribbean in October, will sail regularly from
Port Canaveral. It will be the second of the company's ships to sail
regularly from there. The 142,000-ton vessel features a rock climbing
wall 200 feet above sea level, skating tracks, an ice-skating rink,
a miniature golf course, a large casinog, full-size basketball courts,
and interior staterooms that overlook a shopping/entertainment mall.
It will sail alternating seven-day Eastern and Western Caribbean routes...

Explorers and experts will enliven Seabourn's South America cruises
early this year. Authorities in history, biology, anthropology, archeology,
medicine, geographic exploration, and the scientific search for extraterrestrial
intelligence will headline the line's "Dress Circle" enrichment
program ... Complimentary shore events have been added to long Seabourn
trips. For example, passengers who sail for 42 days next summer on
Seabourn Pride will be able to view a flamenco performance and tour
the Palacio in Seville, savor a tea at Sausmarez Manor on Guernsey,
and embark on a canal circuit and historic museum tour in Amsterdam

A revised 2003 schedule for Silversea's 296-passenger Silver Wind
takes it out of Australia/New Zealand and into the Med and Caribbean.
There will be 14 Mediterranean voyages, four Monte Carlo-London itineraries,
and seven Caribbean sailings.
Windstar
Cruises
Windstar will schedule 131 cruises this year calling on 108 ports
in 44 countries. The 148-passenger Wind Star has been redeployed to
Tahiti to replace the Wind Song, which was damaged by an engine room
fire in December. During the 2003 European cruise season, the 148-passenger
Wind Spirit will operate a blend of Med and Greek Isle trips. The
308-passenger Wind Surf will be in the Baltics and Northern Europe.
Year-'round Tahiti cruises resume this season.
